A thermocouple is a temperature sensor, also known as a thermo-couple.
Thermocouples (thermo-couples) are generally used mainly for medium to high temperature measurement and have the following characteristics:
- They generate a large electromotive force (emf) with little variation
- They have excellent heat resistance and corrosion resistance
- They are standardized (interchangeable) and inexpensive
