The amount of electric power used over a certain period, such as an hour, a day, or a month, is called electric energy. The unit used is watt-hour [Wh].
Electric energy is calculated by multiplying power by time.
If power is P [W] and time is t [h], the electric energy W is given by: W = P × t [Wh].
For example, if a 100 W light bulb is turned on for 1 hour and 30 minutes,
W = P × t [Wh] = 100 [W] × 1.5 [h] = 150 [Wh].
