A CT converter is a device that converts the 5A (or 1A) AC output from the secondary side of a current transformer (CT) into a DC signal.
Watanabe Electric Industry’s CT converters offer two calculation methods for determining the current value: true RMS and rectified (average value), allowing users to select the desired method.
If the secondary side of a CT is left open while current is flowing through the primary side (live condition), a high voltage may develop across the terminals, potentially causing insulation breakdown and damage such as burning.
Therefore, our CT converters are equipped with a CT protector as a standard feature to prevent the secondary side from being left open, which is one of our product’s key features.
