An AC converter is a device that converts various AC currents and voltages into DC voltage or current signals.
Considering the characteristics of AC, we offer two types of input methods: “rectified (average value) type” and “true RMS type.”
Since the magnitude of AC current and voltage is generally expressed using the “RMS (Root Mean Square) value,” we generally recommend the “true RMS type.”
For proper usage, if the input signal is a clean sine wave, the “rectified (average value) type” can be used. If the AC signal contains distortion components such as harmonics, the “true RMS type” should be used.
