First-order lag converter

When the signal output from a sensor suddenly jumps from zero to its maximum value, directly converting this signal may have undesirable effects.
In such cases, a first-order lag converter can be used as a shock absorber to transform the signal into one that changes more smoothly.
The change follows a second-order curve defined by the time constant, which is the time required for the output to reach 63% of its final value.
